Positive: The owners accepted, when we requested a change of our room from the first floor to the ground floor. Upon reviewing the advertisement, it became clear that the information provided was somewhat ambiguous, as it did not clearly specify that the apartment we had booked was located on the first floor. This lack of clarity could potentially lead to misunderstandings for future guests, highlighting the importance of precise communication in property listings.
Negative: 1. The advertisement for the property failed to specify that it is located on the first floor, which could lead to misunderstandings for potential renters. Additionally, it is important to note that the pool, backyard, and alfresco areas are communal spaces shared with other guests. The entire property is a double-storey structure, accommodating two separate families on the ground and first floors. However, this arrangement was not clearly articulated in the listing, leading us to believe it was an independent unit. Upon inquiring with the owner, we received a screenshot indicating that accessibility is via stairs, but it would have been more transparent to explicitly state that we would be sharing the pool, backyard, and other common facilities, such as the laundry and dryer, with other occupants. 2. Furthermore, the owner has access to our backyard and pool through his property from the rear, and he entered without prior notification, which constitutes a breach of privacy. In terms of climate control, all air-conditioning units were pre-set to 21 degrees, rather than the more common 16 degrees found in most properties. The owner entered our space without knocking and insisted that we close the windows while the air conditioning was running. We had just checked in and opened the door to allow fresh air to circulate before closing it, so his abrupt entrance felt quite intrusive. 3. Additionally, there were only two remote controls available for three air-conditioning units. When we raised this issue with the owner, he informed us that the previous guests had lost one remote and suggested that we could use the same remote for two units, which did work. However, when we inquired about the preset temperature of 21 degrees, his response was sarcastic and dismissive, implying that our concerns were unfounded.
