The Coach House is adjacent to the Old Vicarage, also a Grade II Listed Building, and one of the oldest properties in the village. The property was owned by the Diocese of Gloucester, part of the Church of England, for many centuries until 1985, when the last Vicar of Cold Aston passed away. The Reverend Hughes, who is buried in the churchyard opposite the Old Vicarage, lived in the Old Vicarage with 27 cats. In 1291 the Old Vicarage was valued at £4 6s 8d (just over £4.06 in new money).
