Relax in this cozy cottage on 1 acre of land in historic Cross Village, Michigan. Colonial cabin, retro knotty pine, vintage furnishings. Walking distance to famous landmark Legs Inn restaurant, Petoskey Brewing, Black Barn Farm, Three Pines Studio. A quick bike ride to Lake Michigan. Near plenty of beaches, hiking, Tunnel of Trees, Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Wilderness State Park. Hi-speed wifi, new appliances, full laundry. All of the modern conveniences you need in a cozy up-north cottage.
Please note that this a 100+ year old cottage. The original part of the building is a log cabin. We have balanced modern comforts and conveniences with maintaining its vintage vibe. There is a short stair to the 2nd floor, and it may not be appropriate for those with mobility concerns. The 2nd floor sleeping rooms are separated by a door and wall. The bathroom is on the 1st floor.
Herb garden, apple tree, tons of flowers and plantings, plenty of shade and sun.
There is a vegetable garden that the owner tends to every few days. So depending on weather, we may stop by (with notice) to water the plants. Landscape and/or lawn maintenance may occur during your stay, with notice. We'll do our best to schedule this while you're out for the day, if possible!
Winter availability is limited. There is a nice wood pellet stove and a supply of pellets - much easier than a normal wood stove -- and it's pretty automatic. But it does require a little bit of attention each day. The pellet stove supplements the main heating system, and is essential for cozy comfort on cold days. Also please note - Legs Inn and the brewery are closed in the winter. The general store and Black Barn Farm are open!
