Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: It's great if you want to experience the traditional ryokan without the modern feel that most ryokan nowadays have. You will feel like you're staying at your imaginary rich Japanese grandma's house and that a murder mystery party is happening any minute. It has a great vibe if you're into that and will not disappoint.

Negative: You might have to share a toilet with just 1-2 other rooms. I think that's fine, but some people don't like that. They also only offer a small onsen if you manage to book it (we didn't get to try it). The staff is very limited, so you might have to wait a little bit for check in, but they are super friendly and great if you even want a conversation. It has a bit of a fancy hostel vibes, in the sense that they encourage community and hanging out together in the modest common area, if you want. It's a bit pricey all things considered, but maybe we booked on a very busy day.
