Positive: Great location with free parking. Amir was so lovely, very forthcoming with advice and tips for the area and extremely responsive from booking onwards. Very clean and bathroom was modern and well equipped. Towels were fluffy and plentiful. Bed comfy. Really lovely welcome gifts of fresh milk and butter, some biscuits and basics are there too like teabags, salt and pepper etc. Overall a good stay with a great host and exactly on par for the price.
Negative: It's a basement apartment so a little bit dark. There was a bad smell from the shower drain on arrival, but it faded after using it regularly for a few days. Unfortunately students live above and the soundproofing is poor, so it's loud. Even during the day, before they start partying, you can hear every footstep like Shrek is stomping around upstairs. It gets worse after dark. Not a great choice if you're a light sleeper. Not the hosts fault and definitely not an issue if you can sleep well. Kitchen was equipped by someone who has never cooked in their life... Basic cheap equipment. If you're a cook and planning a holiday where you want to cook for yourself, this is not the place for you, but if you are a basic cook and just need to fry the odd egg and use a microwave, it should be fine. Did find a giant slug in the kitchen my first morning there and that was a bit off putting. 🤣
