The House: This is a beautiful cosy house, in an amazing location. You are a 2 min walk from Old Head Blue Flag Beach which is a sheltered beach with sandy substrate, sheltered by cliffs and woodland.
The house is overlooked by a woodland to the west and Croagh Patrick to the south and east. During summer months there are a number of adventure activities available to try on the beach or you can just relax. There are also a number of other beaches to explore near the village of Louisburgh or why not set yourself the challenge of Croagh Patrick.
Louisburgh village is only 5 min drive away & the town of Westport is just 25 mins away. This house has something for everyone – sit back relax & enjoy the beach or take day trip to Connemara, explore Clare island or take to the hills.

Inside: You enter into a bright airy hallway with beautiful nautical artwork ( created by the owner). Off the hall you have a large sitting room with comfy couches & Tv, with a stove to relax in front of after a busy day exploring. At the far end of the room is a large dining table set is a lovely sunroom area with sea views. Take in the sea sounds by opening the large door. Off the sitting area there is a large well equipped country style kitchen with another cosy dining area. A sliding door leads out to a great mature garden backed by a woodland. Enjoy a glass of wine while you wait for your BBQ to cook.

Also downstairs you will find a double & twin room both ensuite. Up stairs there is another large ensuite double room & a single room. You'll also find a large house bathroom with bath.

Summary: We had a lovely stay in the house but it’s not five star although we paid a five star price for it. Found the owner very helpful all week especially when we arrived to a very leaking tap and subsequent flooding of the kitchen floor, plumber removed on the Monday morning , only wondering why this wasn’t noticed or sorted before our arrival. A lot of things were malfunctioning in the house but I gave up ringing her as I could have rang her every day wondering why different things weren’t working. beds were very uncomfortable bar one, I think mattresses are very out of date on some of the beds. Having stayed in numerous houses all over the country over the years, I think this house had far too much of the personal possessions and no effort was made to clear it. We felt like they had just moved themselves out the day before and not even bothered to make an effort to prepare for renting it for the summer. Location is the main selling point for this house but for the price I would expect much more quality in beds & appliances.
