The new Dick's pick, is a little piece of heaven in the North east kingdom of Vermont. Our 2 bedroom Camp sleeps 6 and comes with everything you will need to have a great vacation, kitchen utensils, linens and towels even toys and floats to enjoy the lake with, just bring your clothes and food. This 2 story home has amazing lake views no matter where you sit, the large deck and covered porch has a table for enjoying your morning coffee, while enjoying exceptional views of the lake. There are 2 bedrooms. the master bedroom is on the first floor and has a queen bed, and has a private entry to the full bath. The second floor has a bedroom with a queen and a spacious den. The kitchen is equipped with everything need to prepare and serve meals and all appliances including a dishwasher. There is a dining nook that has a table with leaves to expand if needed, and has windows with beautiful views of the lake. The first floor dining room, kitchen and living room are open concept, and there is a gas fireplace, and access to the covered front porch and deck from the living room. Our 135 feet of shore line includes a private dock. There is a nice public beach just steps away from the camp, but our water front also has shallow depths great for wading or swimming. Please feel free to bring you own water craft, but it is required that you have any water craft (kayaks, sail boats, inflatables etc.) power washed by the Vermont fish and wildlife station at the boat access, before it can be put in the water. The boat access is located approximately 400 yards from our property. Shadow lake is clean and is an invasive species free body of water, and with your help we can keep it that way. Bring your fishing gear! Shadow is a deep-water lake and has many varieties of fish that you can catch from the boat or right from our dock. In the fall the colors of the leaves are unbelievably gorgeous. And in the winter, you can bring your ice fishing equipment for the lake, fishing is not just for summer! Visit the many ski areas that are in the area including Burke Mountain, Jay Peak, and Stowe. We are also within a hour of Mount Washington and NH ski areas.
The local general store is Curriers, and they have everything you could want from food, alcoholic beverages, gifts, deli fare, an amazing butcher shop, and some fishing gear. Explore the back roads where you may see many kinds of wildlife including moose and bears. when you are exploring look for Parker Pie Company and world renowned Bread and Puppet theater. Cabot Creamery has tours of the production line and has a great gift shop. There's also the world famous Hill Farmstead brewery and Ben & Jerrys ice cream factory in Waterbury. Enjoy breakfast or lunch at the busy bee in Glover. Head to Greensboro or Craftsbury for band concerts and plays or the Maple Grove Farm and museum in St. Johnsbury. You are 30 minutes from the Canadian border, so bring you passport and do a day trip. We supply a book at the camp that has information for the local attractions.
