Low Graythwaite Hall is a spectacular private homestay close to Lake Windermere's sparkling southern shoreline and with only singing birds and friendly stags for neighbours, promising a truly spellbinding escape. This magnificent Hall will be a sure journey's end for all looking for luxury here in the Lakes. Offering a secluded location a short distance from the glittering waters of the lake the hall offers a large lounge with feature fireplace, a breath-taking dining room with exquisite oak panelling and large French windows to the garden, a magnificent hallway, a cosy second lounge and a very well equipped farmhouse kitchen. Nine bedrooms and seven bathrooms, each room is unique and individually decorated and all beautifully appointed with high quality mattresses and bed linen and beautiful views. The bathrooms vary in size from room to room in order to have the minimum impact on the beautiful features and layout of the Hall. This is a house for celebrations and a property that memories are made from. Soicalise in style in the beautiful lounge, celebrate with family and friends over dinner in the magnificent dining room, relax and unwind in the luxurious bedrooms and enjoy the beautiful grounds and stunning topiary that surrounds. == Accommodation In detail From the gateway the gravelled drive sweeps between the woodland and the lawned garden to the front door. On entering the Hall visitors are immediately struck by the imposing hallway. The hallway leads to the beautiful lounge with comfortable sofas, antique furnishings, magnificent stone fire place and beautiful window overlooking the grounds and topiary. A door leads from here directly into the garden. A second lounge is also well appointed and offers more space to relax and socialise. With large, south facing, French windows opening directly onto the patio the magnificent dining room is breath-taking with beautiful oak cladding and feature fire place and when the weather is good why not take the meal out doors and dine at the outdoor dining area. The kitchen is well equipped and of a very high standard; with plenty of cupboard space and work surfaces, set around a central island unit, a large Rangemaster cooker, and fridge and freezer. To the rear of the hall and accessed through the side door there is a Boot Room with plenty of spaced for boots and outdoor gear in addition to an additional freezer and a ground floor cloakroom with WC. Two staircases access the first floor and provide access to the bedrooms. Each bedroom is unique and individually decorated. Catbells; a spacious kingsize four poster bedroom with views to the garden, TV and quirky ensuite shower room. Grisedale; a charming double bedroom with large window seat overlooking the garden and ensuite bathroom with feature corner bath. Tethera; a sumptuous bedroom with superking size bed, ensuite shower room and a lovely lounge area to relax and unwind. Cunsey; a superking size bedroom which can be made up as twin beds if required features beautiful oak beams and ensuite shower room with underfloor heating. Esthwaite; a comfortable double room with beautiful 17th century features such as its powder cupboard and leaded windows. This bedroom offers an ensuite bathroom with bath with shower over. A further four bedrooms are located on the second floor; two kingsize (one with ensuite bathroom with shower and feature bath), one double and one twin all of which command beautiful views over the grounds. Returning to the ground floor and heading back outside, the Hall stands in four acres of grounds which include beautiful native woodland, lawned gardens, spectacular topiary, a pond and a small stream. There is a patio area with garden furniture where you can relax overlooking the garden, there is an outdoor dining area ideal for lunch in the summer. There is parking for up to seven cars and plenty of space for you to walk and relax. Please note there grounds are also used by guests staying at the Old Dairy which is also on the estate. Low Graythwaite Hall is a five minute drive south of Hawkshead Village and the shores of Esthwaite Water, close to the western shores of Lake Windermere and the car-ferry crossing to Bowness. Location Hawkshead is an adorable village of cobbled streets and traditional Grade II listed Lakeland cottages. You'll find a range of local shops here, including the Honeypot Delicatessen which offers a treasure-trove of Lakeland luxuries. Spend a lazy morning in one of Hawkshead's charming tea rooms or cafes. There are several TripAdvisor-rated traditional pubs in Hawkshead and we recommend the short drive to the acclaimed Drunken Duck Inn and Restaurant at Outgate. A larger selection of shops can be found in Ambleside, a few miles away and the larger on-line supermarkets will deliver your groceries to Roger Ground. Hawkshead is the perfect base for walkers, with routes, right from the doorstep, to suit all levels. Take the stunning walk to Tarn Hows, stroll on the shores of Esthwaite Water, which also has an excellent trout fishery or explore Grizedale Forest; a picturesque network of pathways, cycle tracks and sculpture trails. Why not take on Grizedale's Go-Ape, Latterbarrow, or Claife Heights, conquer the nearby Langdale Pikes or enjoy the watersports that nearby Coniston or Windermere have to offer. The surrounding landscape inspired the children's author Beatrix Potter. Her former home at Hill Top, Near Sawrey is now run by the National Trust and is open to the public. A truly magical experience for all! Directly behind Hill Top is Tower Bank Arms, a traditional pub with stone-flagged floors, Lakeland ales and a roaring fire. Bowness can be easily reached via the car-ferry across Lake Windermere, only a few miles from your door. Bowness is a bustling Lakeland town, with contemporary shops and a wide range of entertainment. Hire a boat in Bowness Bay, or take a steamer cruise on Lake Windermere to Ambleside or Lakeside. Windermere Golf Club is just beyond Bowness village.
