Positive: Located in a quiet residential area away from the downtown hustle and bustle, this hotel offers a peaceful retreat complemented by an incredibly polite and helpful staff at the bar/coffee shop/reception. It was a sincere pleasure speaking with them throughout my stay. The rooms are well-appointed with complimentary water, tea, and coffee, and the Shangri-La toiletries in the shower smell fantastic. While the large beds are very comfortable, the mattresses were a bit soft for my personal taste, though the abundance of pillows was appreciated. If I could make one suggestion for an even better experience, it would be to provide a variety of pillow thicknesses, such as a set of two thick and two thin options. I will definitely be returning the next time I am in New Orleans, especially for another one of those incredible Espresso Martinis—the woman behind the bar made the best one I have had in a very long time. Thank you!
