The “Mountain Fox Den" is charming, super clean and designed to maximize the cozy, 300 sq. ft private suite in a first floor studio of our home (we live above). Think Nordic-style, tiny home luxury with upscale design and functionality; starting with a spacious, private sauna!
The studio has been optimized to feature the best in class and comfort "American Leather" Olympic Queen, convertible sofa/platform bed (like a Murphy bed), with a modern and super comfy memory foam mattress and blackout blinds, for a restful night's sleep!
Granite counter tops; an air fryer/convection/microwave oven; 2-burner induction stove top; BBQ; Keurig coffe/teas; large mini-fridge and freezer amenities; along with cookware, utensils, supplies, etc allow you to enjoy meals here too.
Radiant floor heating throughout, keeps the Mountain Fox Den cozy during all seasons!
The suite is designed with storage in mind and you'll find multiple cupboards, shelves and hooks available for you to unpack and relax.
High-speed WiFi and chargers to keep up while you’re travelling.
Access your favorite movies and shows with the many streaming services on a 46" TV (Hulu, Netflix, Paramount+, Peacock, etc.).
Enjoy a morning coffee/tea or evening BBQ in a west facing, private and gated patio space right outside your door of the 2 1/2 acre, spruce and birch property (not in snow season).
Neighborhood: Our home is surrounded by the 500,000 acres Chugach Mountains and 4000 acres Anchorage parkland with direct, neighborhood access to 100's of miles of Anchorage's world class hike, bike, ski and snowshoe trails!
Take a morning or evening walk around this very quiet and safe, Anchorage mountainside neighborhood and soak in the spectacular mountain, inlet, sunset and city views!
We are Uber/Lyft accessible (about $35 from the airport).
Other things to note: **The private entrance suite floor is shared with a storage/laundry room (separated by a lockable door on both your side and ours) and our garage. We avoid using the floor while guests are staying, but do access the garage to come and go.
**For guests staying 4 days or more, access to washer/dryer can be provided, upon request.
You'll be driving through Alaska parkland on your way up the hill. Moose, bear and other wildlife live here and should never be approached. Please pass by quietly and safely.
We have a lot of outdoor gear: hiking poles, snowshoes, bear spray, head lamps, hammocks, etc which are available to rent/borrow. Please ask ahead of your arrival, so we can have items available for you.
**Winter Advisory: You will want an all wheel drive vehicle from mid October-mid April. The driveway, Mountain Fox Den walkway and patio are gravel. During the snow months, the driveway and path to the Mountain Fox Den will be kept plowed/shoveled and will be a hard-packed, snow surface.
